Since 1936, Southeast Financial Credit Union has been providing members with excellent products and services. Because privacy is an important issue to our membership, we wanted to explain our privacy policy and our continued commitment to respecting your privacy. At Southeast Financial, we value your trust and make every effort to ensure the personal information that you have provided to us is kept confidential and used only for the purpose that it was intended.

Our Policy

It is the policy of Southeast Financial Credit Union to never disclose non-public member information we collect to third parties, except when required or permitted by law.

Categories of Information We Collect

We collect non-public personal information about our members from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on applications and other forms, such as your name, address, social security number, etc.
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliate, Members Financial Group, Inc., or others, including those companies that work closely with us to provide you with diverse financial products and services, such as your account balance and payment history.
  • Information we receive from a credit reporting agency, such as your creditworthiness and credit history.
  • Information obtained when verifying the information you provide on an application or other form(s). This may be obtained from your current or past employers, or from other institutions where you conduct financial transactions.
  • Information we may obtain from consumer purchasing and census data providers to develop competitive marketing programs for our members. We may disclose non-public personal information about members and former members that we collect to companies that perform marketing services for us or to other financial institutions with whom we have a joint marketing arrangement.
  • Financial services companies, such as insurance companies, mortgage companies, banks, credit unions, securities broker-dealers, check printers and credit card providers.
  • Non-financial companies, such as bulk mailing companies, statement providers, and market research companies.

Other Exceptions

Other examples of when we disclose member information are as follows:

  • To consumer reporting agencies.
  • To companies that perform services for us in connection with your account, such as data processing, collection agencies, and software companies.
  • When disclosure is required by law, such as pursuant to court order, subpoena, legal process or government agency examination or investigation, or to protect or enforce our rights.
  • With your consent or at your direction, which may be oral, in writing, by telephone, electronic or by other means we recognize.

We restrict access to your non-public personal information to those employees requiring such information when assisting you with products or services. For example, access to member information is needed to service your account or provide products and services to you, to resolve questions or inquiries, for internal security or fraud control, or to protect and enforce our rights. We diligently maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your information.
